DIVISION 17 CLUB INFORMATION

Kiwanis Club of Bethesda
Chartered in 1945
meets Thursdays at 12:15 p.m.
Kenwood Country Club
5601 River Road
Bethesda, MD 20816

The Kiwanis Club of Bethesda serves more than 300 deserving youth and children throughout Montgomery County. Our Kiwanis camping activities for kids with special needs at Camps Ivymount and Friendship, the latter under the auspices of the Carol Jean Cancer Foundation, make every member proud of our involvement.

We sponsor Key Clubs at Walter Johnson and Walt Whitman High Schools and we support Montgomery County after-school sports. We are especially delighted to provide college and vocational scholarships to graduating seniors of the Regional Institute for Children and adolescents (RICA) in Rockville and selected graduating Walter Johnson volunteers.

Our club supports children's programs at the new Imagination Stage in Bethesda and at the B-CC YMCA. We host Bethesda's annual Veteran's Day ceremony, we're active in Montgomery County's Rebuilding Together program (formerly Christmas in April), and we support the Dwelling Place, Hearts and Homes for Youth of Greater Washington's Caitheness House, Bethesda Cares, the Dwelling Place and the Lazarus Leadership Foundation. We raise funds for all of these wonderful programs at our Annual Golf Classic.

Our social activities include a monthly Family Bowling Night Out and our yearly Holiday Party and Charter Night celebrations.
